How do we build our Web Sites?
We do not use WYSIWYG (What you see Is What you Get) applications like Macromedia Dreamweaver as we professionally Hand Code each and every Web Site. We use XHTML (eXtensible Hypertext mark Up Language), CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), PHP (Hypertext Pre-Processor), MySQL (Structured Query Language) and some Java Script (live interaction with the website), but we may if required use other web standards compliant languages as well to achieve the website functionality required.

How long does it take to build a Web Site?
The time to build a Web Site varies greatly between projects and unfortunately can not be accurately estimated until, we have a full understanding of the proposed sites needed functionality. After the site has been built by Alphomega, we then enter a testing phase to make sure everything is perfect first time. The testing phase normally lasts a week.

How do I pay?
We do not ask our customers for the total cost of the Website upfront, we believe that it works better if we work in stages. So we ask for a 25% deposit at the start of the process and we then invoice again in stages throughout the projects build time. The number of payment stages depends on the size of the overall web site project but will be a minimum of two stages. These stages are discussed between us and you to make the best payment solution possible. The last payment stage will always be 30 days after the web site has gone live.

How will AlphOmega work with me?
After contacting us through this web site or by phone we will arrange for one of our Designers to contact you to discuss your needs and desires for your web site. We will then draw up a schedule (time line), document a project specification, and do some initial design concepts. The design concepts will then be presented to you so you can decide which concept to go with, and make any changes that you may require. The web site build process then begins and you will be invited to witness the build online at regular stages to leave yourself with the opportunities to present us with feedback all of the way. This enables us to give the web site 100% of the look and functionality you really want.

Who owns the work?
At the time that the site is finished and the final payment is received you will be given all rights to the Art Work and Code. We will of cause look after your needs from this point onwards as well but this is just so you do not feel bound to us. It is kind of like Fairtrade
for the web design industry.

But who owns the right to the Domain Name?
Any Domain Name purchased for your Website will belong to you. We will never withhold a Domain Name like other companies that run a force retention business.

What access will I have to Hosting accounts?
When Alphomega builds a site for its clients they are given their first years hosting for free. We do not provide any access to this web hosting facility, unless specifically requested, as it is fully managed and supported by us. If FTP (File Transfer Protocol) accounts or access to the hosting control panel is needed by yourself then we can provide these but will be unable to guarantee the website stability. This would also render a charge if the website was to fail from users access to the hosting controls, if this is deemed to be the direct cause of Website problems.

What support will I get with my Web Site?
The craftsmanship of the web site will be of the highest level and will be fully tested. If for any reasons the website should develop any problems we will support it. We will not officially support it if the web site has been broken from users choice of access to the web hosting account, has caused this issue. In this case support will be chargeable. For any support questions or just advice on using your new website, please feel free to Contact Us at any time. We keep backup copies of all Web Sites we host and are able to implement these backups if necessary. Support from Web Site problems which have not been caused by users abuse will not be chargeable.

How long does it take for my site to be indexed by Google?
Search Engine Optimisation is a lengthy process. It normally takes up to 8 months for the full effect of the SEO work completed on your Web Site to benefit fully. However, you will normally start seeing good Search Engine Positions in about 3 months from when the Search Engine Optimisation work was completed. Why does my Web site Development Build sometimes loads slowly?
Your web site development build may be hosted directly on the developers machine who is building your website. We prefer to do this as you can access your website in its exact state at the time you view it instead of viewing a incrementally uploaded snapshot on the Internet. This feature can sometimes come at the price of Internet Bandwidth speed as you are gaining authorised access into a developers machine in our office and not a dedicated Internet Server.
